The short version: CashSplit keeps your split history and active draft on your device. We have no servers, no account system, no analytics, no advertising, and no tracking. We do not collect, transmit, sell, or share your data.
This policy explains how CashSplit (the "App", "we", "us") handles information. By using the App, you agree to this policy.
None. We do not operate servers or a backend for the App, and the App contains no analytics, advertising, tracking, crash-reporting, or third-party SDKs. The App's privacy manifest reports Data Not Collected. We have no way to see, receive, or collect the split history or draft you create in the App.
When you use the App to split a bill or expense, the details you enter, saved splits, amounts, and related history, are stored only in the App's private on-device database (SwiftData). Your active, in-progress split is kept as a draft in the App's local device storage until you finish or discard it. None of this is uploaded to us.
If you have iCloud Backup enabled, your device backup may include the App's local data. Those backups are created and protected by Apple under Apple's privacy policy, not by us.
If you use the receipt scan, the photo you take or choose is analyzed entirely on your device using Apple's Vision framework to read the total, tax, and tip. The photo and any recognized text are never stored by the App and never leave your device. The camera is used only when you choose to take a photo, and the photo-library option uses Apple's system picker, which shares only the image you select.
The App can create a summary of a split when you choose to share it. That summary is created locally on your device and is shared only through the system share sheet action you select. We do not receive a copy of anything you share.
The App offers an optional one-time Pro upgrade. The purchase is processed entirely by Apple's App Store under Apple's terms and privacy policy. We do not see, receive, or store your payment details or purchase receipt. The App uses Apple's StoreKit 2 to verify your Pro entitlement on-device; we do not receive any record of your purchase.
We do not sell, rent, trade, or share your information with anyone. We have no access to it.
Your data stays on your device until you remove it. The App's delete-all action clears your saved split history and your active draft. Deleting the App from your device removes the App's local data, subject to any device backups managed by Apple.
Because your information stays on your device, you remain in control of it. You can view or delete it directly in the App. We hold no server-side copy and cannot access, export, or delete it on your behalf.
The App is not directed to children under 13, and it does not collect personal information from anyone, including children.
If we make a material change to this policy, we will update the effective date above and publish the revised policy at this location. Your continued use of the App after a change indicates your acceptance of the updated policy.
